Christoph Von Wilhelm Dazzler was a shoe maker in the city Baravia, Herzogeaurach Gemany. Pauline was his loving wife. She spent her time in a laundry washing clothes to earn their living. This family had two sons namely Rudolf(Rudi) and Adolf(Adi). Both were schooled in the same city. Everyday, after school, Rudolf use to go to the factory which his father worked and help him in his work. He learnt all about shoe making at helping his father in the factory. Adolf spent time with his mother than his father in the laundry but he was not washing clothes. He was making shoes.
Soon after schooling, Rudolph found a job at a renowned porcelain company. While Adolph started his own shoe making business. In 1924, after World War I, Rudolph gave up the job at the porcelain company and joined his brother in making sports shoes. This family shoe business prospered gradually. This business was carried out in mother's laundry. Since the electricity supply was not reliable at the time, they had to use pedal power taken from a stationary bicycle to run their equipment.
Adolph persuaded a US sprinter Jesse Owens to wear Adolph's shoes in his sprint. Jesse agreed and he won 4 gold medals in that Olympic Tournament. That paved the way for Adolph's shoe company to boom. Dazzlers were selling around 200,000 shoes per year just before world war II.
Unfortunately World War II started. Rudolph was a strong Nazi follower. Dazzler factory was destroyed by the American soldiers since Dazzlers' factory was used to produce anti tank weapons. The attack's on Dazzlers was reduced after Kathe, Adolph's wife convinced that they will produce only sports shoes. This broke up the brotherhood between Rudolph and Adolph.
Rudolph went and started his own shoe factory named Rudi, which after a while became "Puma". Adolph's factory was known as Addidas, formed by the name "Adi" and "Daz"zler. Later they became rivals in sports shoe industry.
